COUNSELING INTERN

Shanice Nelson

I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Couples. With a strong foundation in psychology/gender studies and years of hands-on experience working with children, families, and underserved communities, I  bring my compassion, cultural awareness, and a commitment to emotional growth to my work.

I’m a mother of two beautiful little girls, my favorite color is purple and I absolutely love leopard print! I’ve worked within Charleston County School District as a Teacher’s Assistant for the past 5 years. It has offered growth and networking opportunities. My professional journey reflects a deep passion for interpersonal connection, emotional support, and community uplift.

My long-term goal is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and establish a mentorship program specifically designed to support and empower Black youth. I’m excited to grow in the field of mental health, gain clinical experience, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.
